Modern Staircase
‘Morgan Eddington did a great job on our staircase remodel. He is very professional and did a good job communicating with us. He takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows. We are planning to use Morgan again for a kitchen update later this year. Highly recommend.’ - Chris S.
For this project, I was approached to turn a builder grade staircase into something that made it stand out.
We went for a simple approach that brought a modern appeal. A box newel with pyramid top, and square wooden balusters. Black and white enamel was applied to contrast, and really separate the this from the rest of the house. A runner from Dalton Carpet One and Interior Designer, Caty DeLaigle, was then added to complete the look.
Finished staircase. A new carpet runner will be added center of treads.

The moulding provided did not match the look of the new staircase, so custom base trim for the newel post to hide the anchoring hardware was made.
Positioning the handrail so that the balusters lengths remain consistent and keep the handrail straight.
Image of the installed newels. There is one coat of paint added to all materials before they are all finally assembled and receive their last coat. At this point it was decided that the runner would run up the center of the staircase.
Oil primer is used on the vast majority of my work. This is help with any staining that the wood could introduce and to help with toughness and longevity
